When to Replace UV Quartz Sleeve?

I just replaced my first UV light after a year, the quartz sleeve was pretty much clean I gave it a quick wipe before reinstalling it. How often should you replace the quartz sleeve in a UV?

When you drop it and break it.

otherwise just keep it clean of built up deposits - maybe muriatic acid wipe every couple of years if necessary.

They are passive components that do not normally need replacement.

Yeah there was a tiny bit of that down by the base of the sleeve that I didn't think was a problem. My UV is 3' long.

Every 3 years about... they do get hazy.

As said above that haze won't come out after some real time in service, like 3-5 years. If the quartz is expensive, I'd stretch it out, if its cheaper, every 2-3 years. I worry more about the o-ring than anything else.
