Does it matter when you run your refugium lights? I thought I heard opposite of tank lights but not sure if that's true...

Lol my fuge is about 1% of my tank volume XD But mine is mostly as a pod hangout/breeding area more than a macro algae growing area. I currently have chaeto in there, I want to add some Caulerpa eventually.

How big is your fuges in comparison to your tank volume?

Also what kind of macro algea do you use?

Mine is half of my tank volume... and in it i have 6" DSB and have about 10lbs of LR and have chato... but im also running a DIY custom algea turf scrubber. :)

I have a 75g tank with a 30g long as a sump. The refugium area is 14" x 12" x 12" (almost 9-gallons) and is filled with lots of rock rubble, large LR pieces, as well as Chaeto and Caulerpa...oh, and some monster pods! I've been running my lights (2 x 13w 6,500K spiral CFL bulbs) the same period the tank lights were on, but I've just changed it to run opposite, based upon this thread.

I'm not running a refugium on my 45g, unfortunately, I don't have room in the sump for one.
