I know this is a fickle topic, but when do y’all run your moon lights? I have a T5HO/LED combo and the LEDs start ramping at 11:00, T5s kick on at 12:00, everything's on until 20:00, then LEDs ramp down until 21:00. Right now I have moons on directly after the LEDs cut off at 21:00 the run until 23:00. I was wondering if it would be worth putting the moon cycle in the middle of the night between the daylight photo periods to be more realistic? I use the lunar cycle program because I heard it helps coral schedule their spawning.

Not a necessity but if you choose to utilize it…… generally 11p-6am

I have never noticed any difference in my tank from installing lunar lights. Mine are the Apex lights so mine change to follow the moon cycles.

I still like the way the tank looks at night with them on but that’s the only advantage I’ve seen.

I found that my fish were a little restless when I used the moon light. They were not used to it and didn't like it. So i stopped using it.

Moonlight can only be seen down a couple feet into the water. The depths at which our corals grow is basically black at night.

Moonlights are only for our pleasure.
