got some diatoms on rear glass rockscape clean
these numbers have been consistent for 2week into running refugium full time
6hours of light cycle daily @ 20%
what do you guys think start hitting tank with some corals or no keep trying to keep things stable awhile longer

I would have given one or two a try by now. What sort are you planning to get?

What’s your stocking plan? If all SPS, you could probably try some montipora or birdsnest at this point. If mixed or LPS/softies, you’re probably OK to try just about anything at this point. I’d personally start small/cheap and monitor progress.

Some corals eat alk quickly. How are you keeping these numbers stable, and can you adjust additions of Cal/ Alk / Mag after you add a consumer?

Add something already, and good luck with the new addition(s). Go slow and see how the tank parameters and stability change after each addition. Also, the uptake of nutrients might be slow at first as the coral acclimates so keep a sharp eye once you observe visible growth. GL!

i have 3 dosing stations available for use
was planning to try to just dose RFA see how that goes for uptake

i am thinking sps and lps
Your gonna need a good handle on water parameters for them. I hope you’ve googled all Randy Holmes Farley’s articles. They contain a wealth of information. When you’ve read them all a couple of times, read them again, you will have missed something. :)

one thing i yet to do is par meter the dt which i am in contact with a few local reefers to hopefully get this done

I feel fairly confident i am able to manage current bioload of tank. But as i add coral the uptake aspect will be new to me going to try straight dose as needed with only one water change a month so far this has worked out. uptake as a fish only system near zero. thinking my baseline is set time to test the waters just not sure if tank in mature enough to start this process

I think having stability before you add will limit the instability caused by the new coral, so yes, you are monitoring and moving wisely, imo.

You can do coral as soon as you master counterfeiting

ok ill push for my par metering to get completed and start with a few hardy sps if there such a thing
