When to turn lights on during cycle?

BRS recommendations are to keep lights off during the tank cycle.

my tank is on week 3 of cycling now with ammonia 0 nitrite 0 and nitrate 0. I have 2 fish in there and they’re happy.

when should I be turning the lights on?

I normally turn the light on with cycle. The reason why some one rec to turn the light off is due to the high nutrient level during cycle of a tank. Light will result in excessive algae growth.
you can turn on the light any time to defined day and night for the animals.

Suggestion of no lights is for algae control. It’s all up to you. IMO start slow, only a few hours a day. Work your way up to your schedule.

And have light on when you’re home. I run mine on a evening schedule (on at 5pm; off at 11pm). Point is doesn’t have to be a 9-5 schedule.
