I wish you luck on colony's. Seems like all I see is frags and single or 2 headed stuff. Most bigger stuff I find is from local reefers.

Vivid always has some nice stuff, but are very $$$ imo. But just encase... Anyone wanna be my secret santa? LOL
They have some 3-4 inch stuff in stock, nothing huge but not a frag either.

EDIT: Coral fantasitic on ebay is good for zoas if you don't care for names and sometimes other LPS/ large anemones. She sells quite a few 3-6 inch colonies.
ebay link to zoa
link to 6 inch frogspawn same seller

the word colony has been redefined to anything with more than one but less than 3 of the following:

Sticks
Polyps
Heads

yeah, if you say "colony" I better not be able to see a frag-plug! A stand at a local frag swap recently had about a dozen colonies for sale, smallest the size of my fist, and some about 10" diameter (like the Trachy) and they were all $100 each...... I regret not buying more.

If you're looking for some sps we can cut you some chunks of Vivids Rainbow, PC Rainbow, UC Dippin Dots, TSA Purple Rain, TSA Dan Akroyd, JF Shocktart, ORA Frogskin tort, CB Golden Jawdropper, TSA Candlelight, TSA The Fuzz, RRC Pink Cadillac, ASD Rainbow Milli, and a couple others. If you're interested feel free to PM me

If we have a lot of it it can be pretty affordable ;)

Yeah, people have been conditioned to think a 3-4" frag (and yes, that is just a frag) is a "colony".

Really, the current climate has priced colonies out of existence. When a vendor can get hundreds for a nub they aren't going to offer the whole colony at a decent price.

I focus on colonies Over frags

I did see a Walt Disney at the frag swap that was the size of an 11 year-old’s fist. (good point of reference, trust me.... just ask an eleven-y/o to make a fist....) for a mere $3k

A lot of lfs will frag up the colonies, easier to sell a 30-40 frag plug than a 200+ Colony, imagine a home wrecker colony or Walt Disney easily 3k+

Thats why I mentioned LPS and softies, More bang for your dollar. SPS is the ultimate but you have to work for two years and hope it all goes well, Frags are for hard to get one of a kind, IMHO ...Frag tanks are Cool too ...no offence FRAGGERS

Unique Corals and live aquaria always have acro colonies available I believe

Hi I have some nice colonies that are not on my site that are available.

Chalices
Monties
Duncans (2 varieties)
Acans
Lobos
A lot of SPS
Hammers (have a beautiful rainbow long tentacle large wall hammer)
Torches

Message me and we can see what we can put together. Very reasonable pricing.

Mike

You have to think of the Frags as "Potential Colonies". Just add the right water, lights and sprinkle in time ;-). For me, I get the most pleasure seeing small frags blossom into colonies.

Lps is kinda a mixed bag since some aren't fragable. I have seen single head "colonies" on various websites and recently decided not to buy a Duncan colony from my lfs that wanted $25 a head for blastos

Thanks, Feel Free to post a pic or two here ;) I definitely need a Hammer and lobo.

I had a lobo arive yesterday that was supposed to be 5-6" and ended up 3" He wants me to send it back ;Wacky has anyone shipped a coral back???
This is what I want to avoid, a bunch of small corals crowding the tank. I would like a specimens that exemplify the species.
They don't have to be ultras or masters just worthy of my dollars and the space in my tank.
