i have a 65 gallon reef tank drilled with over flow and wet dry. I had 2 clowns, 2 fire fish, 3 green chromies and a coral hogfish. I check and every thing was fine at 6am this morning. I just got home and I'm missing the male clown and 2 green chromies. The only new fish is th coral hog but I don't see him eating the other fish. I got ticked and pulled all the rock from my tank and they are just gone . What is going on ? I'm getting super mad at how much money I'm spending for fish to just vanish. I check all around my stand, lights, pumps, filter and power heads. I don't know what to do any more

You might have a pest that's eating them. Reading up on the Hogfish it says they are aggressive and will consume smaller tankmates. This could be the reason the clown jumped into the overflow.

Have you checked in your overflow or sump for them???
I found my male clown, he was hiding behind the over flow pipe in the over flow of my tank, so I shut down all pumps and purged water threw my over flow pipe hoping to find my chromies but they are not in the tank, over flow or the wet dry.

I've had Chromis disappear. They are very small and get in the rocks crevices well... and if they die in there your cleanup crew will eat them without you ever seeing the body...

I would. Live Aquaria says an adult coral hog is not reef safe, will eat your cleanup crew and smaller fish. :(

Live and learn I guess. What are some nice looking, hearty fish I can put in my tank that won't eat my other fish.

Coral beauty, anthias, cardinal fish, reef safe wrasse. Just research and make sure the fish you get will get along with the fish you already have.
Live Aquaria lists their compatibility and other stats, what they eat, what size tank they need, etc.
We all learn. Long time ago I bought a little yellow grouper. He was so cute.
When I came home from work he had my blood shrimp in his mouth. The antennae's were sticking out of his mouth. The blood shrimp was the same size as the grouper.
An expensive meal. Had to break down the tank twice to get him out. He was a good hider.
