Where can a small mangrove tree 4-6in?

Any good places to get a mangrove? Im not to familiar with the different varieties either. I also live in the bay area are they usually bought online?

Do they need a special substrate? I would like to plant it in this tide pool I made it would have about 2 inches of water depth.

HAHAHA thanks Ive gotten a lot of compliments on it, I made it about a year ago and it was in my old mr aqua 32g and now im gonna have it in my new build a shallow 24x24x12. It didnt look as natural in that tank as you can see below cus i had it suspended on two branch rocks its going to look much better in the aquascape Im planning for the shallow. I just stick them in the sand, I have one that I stuck into a piece of live rock, it's roots are spread throughout it.

IME they do no need any substrate. What you have will be fine.. their roots can grow fast though and could potentially take up some space and even push on anything thats in their way. As with anything, nothing an attentive reefers' hand couldn't keep up with. You will probably need something to keep it upright if you do not want it growing sideways.
Im fairly certain that there are diferent ways to "set them up" some people have the bottom of the pod off the floor, this way the roots will growdown creating the "mangrove lagoon" appearance.

How did u keep that tide pool up so close to the top and how is the sand staying up there?

I purchased mine from reefcleaners. All have survived thus far. That is a really cool place to put them. I did not put them in any substrate. They are in my sump and I just put each one in a hole in some live rock and their roots/hold-fasts have woven through the rock.
