Where can I buy empty shells for my hermit crabs??

My hermit crabs are getting pretty big and I'm scared of them getting aggressiv because they can't find new shells. I've searched the over 4 google pages and couldn't find anything useful. I live in Austria (EU). I only found US Reef Shops that sell empty crab shells.

I usually just make escargot then save the shells use little snails

Amazon. You can find packs of various sizes. They go from $5-$10 a pack.

I couldn't find any on amazon. only pillows with hermit crabs printed on them

The problem is we don't have any beaches in Austria. But that's a great idea. Next time I'm on vacation I will collect some for my aquarium.

I'm not sure what you have around you as far as LFS, but it might be worth checking around with them. I know some of the stores around here will accumulate shells over the various orders they do and are willing to sell the empty shells cheap or some will even bag you some for free. I know they all run things a little different than the next, but it may at least be worth asking around.

Do you have any LFS? They will usually give them away for free or like 10 for a 1$. If they don’t have them, you can always ask if they would order them.

My LFS has a giant box of them on the counter where you check out. Check with your LFS.
