Where can I find non bubbly btas?

In my experience, some strains rarely if ever bubble, such as Chicago Sunbursts. Whereas others will go back and forth and some stay bubbled for the most part. My POTO Sunset Strip is always bubbled, for instance.

I don't know if there is a definitive answer to this question, there is no real known reason on why they do or don’t bubble. You can have a tank with 100 BTA that started from 1 and some will bubble and some will extend. one of mine has bubbles and my other had them for the first week and never has since.

I have never found a clear answer on this…you also observe sebae nems changing “format” also, and I’ve never figured those out either

Look at Sherman bubble tips, they rarely ever bubble up

One day it went for a walk, bubbled up and has stayed that way. Definitely seems to be a combination of light and flow that makes him bubble up better.

Black widows, I’ve never seen them bubbled

My experience is that tanks that only have one or a few BTAs which are hosting mated clownfish pairs, always bubble. Single clownfish or none at all can go either way.

This has been my experience, low flow and they bubble high flow they have long tentacles. All from splits so from the same species.
interesting, the one I have that doesn’t bubble is in lower flow than the one that is bubbling is.

My lavender based BTAs bubble all the time. On the other hand, under the exact same light fixture/setting in different tank, my sherman BT never bubbles. So as others have suggested, I think some varieties are more likely to bubble. If you don't want bubbles, maybe get a sherman or other variety that isn't fond of bubbling under typical reef lighting/conditions.

I say this over and over again... when you see a bubble tip that has bubbles on one side and longer tentacles on the other, you know there's no rhyme or reason for why it happens, or doesn't happen.
