I'm prepping my tank for a H. Magnifica, and want to provide as comfortable a perch as possible.

I was thinking of getting the machine cut flat top pedestal rock from marcorocks:
http://www.marcorocks.com/reef-ledges/pedestal-rocks/new-pedestal-rock-frag-top/

But they don't seem to be in stock. I was going to use epoxy to fill most of the gaps and make it pretty smooth. The reason I want to go with that rock is because the rest of my tank is marcorock too, so it would at least blend in.

Any other good places for something like that? BRS is selling some tonga rock that has a good base, but it seems extremely porous and not really easily fillable to make flat.

You can cut a flat spot on a rock with a diamond wheel and a grinder.
Or walk the beach in Florida and pick one up, tons of flat rock after storms some to big to handle

BRS has some awesome Tonga shelf rock. I hot one over 20" across for my rebuild. Pics when I get home from work.

BRS Pukani is extremely easy to cut with any standard hand saw. I've used a hack saw, wood saw, and key hole saw at various times to cut very big pieces (up to about 24" diameter).

Here are a couple of pictures of the shelf rock. Looks a little more natural than one cut perfectly flat but I'm sure that would not be noticeable after the corals mature. First pic is the day after set up, the second is a few weeks later.

Beautiful scape!

Thanks all! I just need one piece, but can't find anywhere online that'll just sell me one piece like marcorocks...
