Where can Zoanthids grow?

I was thinking of trying to have some zoa grow on my back wall. I was wondering if anyone has ever had success with this? Is it possible for them to grow vertically like that. My plan was to either glue the frag plug to the back wall and see what happens. I’m curious of anyone’s suggestions.

I've never glued any to the back glass but we have had rocks lean on the glass that had zoas and they ended up growing on it.

I've had the same experience...some button polyps were ever so slightly touching the back glass and sure enough it wasn't long before they attached themselves.
