Where did my anemone go?

I bought an anemone yesterday, when I woke up today I could not find it and I found many shredded pieces of anemone tentacles scattered along my tank. My main culprit is the wavemaker. I was looking for it and did not find the anemone in my tank. Maybe it is in one of the rocks still alive? If it is how much time will it take to come out? I’m very worried, please help.

Into a wave maker and now in pieces, scattered across your tank. Bta is done
Siphon out what you can. Those pieces wont grow new nems.

Anemones can wonder especially bta .
guards are a absolute must have !

was the water cloudy , is there a bunch of mushy anemone stuck in the cage for the wave maker ?

How can anyone help when the damage is already done? I did give him some advice...next time use an anemone guard.

Probably as you said it got into your wave maker. you can check if it's still stuck in there, but I'd suggest getting all the pieces you can out and watching your tank for an ammonia spike.

When all else fails nylon works until you can get the proper guards.

One problem with mobile invert is that they will go walking when they are not happy. That was what happened. Sorry.

No, that’s why I believe it is possibly still alive, I haven’t found it dead entirely

Have you tested for ammonia? I would just to be safe. Could it be alive still? Technically yes but usually you’d still see the nem moving on the grille of the powerhead or on the sand. If they make it into the impeller… well let’s just say I’ve never heard of an anemone making it through that.

If you're not 100% sure it's alive, I would start making water to prepare for a large water change and run carbon. Dead nems can nuke everything in the tank fast.
