As the title states. Where do I find good live rock in central florida? I am in the Melbourne area and finding top shelf live rock is hard to come by. The local shops just don't cary it and say they cant get it. I know with drive it is available but does any shops I'm not aware of carry it?

Tbsaltwater. Man made and killer. Check their website. Might be a bit of a drive but if it makes it through a day long flight, what's a few hour drive.

I was lucky enough to get some TBS saltwater rock a few years ago and most of the clams, tunicates, barnacles etc. that were on the rock are still alive. TBS rock has biodiversity you can never replicate with dried base rock.

Plus the owner Richard is a super nice dude who donates to schools and veterans. From my understanding he always throws in a little extra something that he finds when he dives for the rock. I told him that I was setting up a refugium and he sent some cool macro algae that is also still alive. Check out the size of the tunicate colony on the rock to the right.

Richard also finds very healthy sponges and carefully packages them for shipment. The short time between ocean and your tank, plus the one stop in the supply chain ensures that your sponges last longer. Here's what I got and again, some of them are still alive which is unusual for sponges.

Totally recommended.
