Where Do You Buy Your "Filter Socks" From?

https://www.aquaticexperts.com/collections/all

This is where I buy my socks. I have a elite aquatics sump and the really short 8" socks would clog way to fast and then long 14" socks were to long so the bottoms of the sock would push the ring up past the ring slot in the sump so water would spill in without going through the sock. I looked around and couldn't find any socks that weren't these 2 sizes and I hated mesh socks since my sump would get dirty as hell. I stumbled onto this site and bought the 10.5" socks and they are absolutely perfect for my sump. This company has like everything when it comes to socks and filter pads.

What is the bleach for? I just run them through the wash and right back in use.

Bleach helps break down the gunk trapped in the pores of the socks. Do you notice over time that your socks have to be changed more frequently before starting to overflow compared to when they were brand spanking new?

Just wasted $45.00 on 12 pieces of garbage. [emoji35]
Excuse me, but ooops? I have never used filter socks. I have never seen, nor have I ever found any large stuff in my sump, but small fish taking a ride via my plumbing.

If your going to have enough filter socks to bleach and hang dry your better of using a powerwash or jet stream to clean the filter socks. I got this idea from peters fish tank video for maintenance. I did not see a difference, generally it gets clogged every 3-4 days even after a few years. 20 years ago I bleached my dead coral skeleton and killed all my fish (2 fish).. Its a total tank tear down job and at the age I was 12 - it was devastating. Therefore, no point in using bleach for something as simple as filter socks. I've used bleach only to clean my LR to make it Dryrock but kept it out the tank for months - thats the only time i'd recommend bleach other then that the hell with it..

Every three days. With heavy feeding two days. Majority of my feeding is freeze-dried soaked in selcon so it tends to stay suspended gets sucked right into the overflow when I kick the pumps back on
