I was reading another thread about dosing DI resin into a tank (terrible idea), and it got me to thinking where does the average reefer dump their used DI resin?

Resin beads are essentially just porous plastic beads that have been treated with dyes and different static charges to attract compounds out of the water. There's literally no difference between DI resin, and the plastic beads that used to be in some hygiene products that most western countries have now banned. Pouring it down the drain or flushing it down the toilet will, in many places, just dump microplastics directly into the nearest body of water. Small fish and fry eat it, and it doesn't work out very well for them.

So where do you dump your resin? Do you rinse it down the drain, or do you put it in the trash?

Just kidding- In my bathroom sink

Still kidding - Garbage ( not kidding) :D
