Where do you get U Shaped PVC Pipes (1") - Overflow

Hi All,

Where are you getting 1" U Shaped PVC Pipes? I can't find them anywhere and need them for my MM overflow. I tried supply house, Amazon, BRS, Home Depost, Lowes, etc and nothing :-/

I think they would be too big of I did that. I actually tried getting them from synergy but they don’t sell them [emoji24]

I do not think you will find the u shaped parts in 1” PVC That is not a common plumbing drain size

What do people do with ghost overflows then? All the guides say use a u shaped pvc for the primary and secondary

They are used on central a/c systems as condensation traps.
You may only find a p-trap that will have to be cut into a U. But a U is also made.

That’s what I used on my BA overflow... I bought the Everbilt ( spelled like that ) P trap. I used parts C, D & E and the tailpiece. Then drilled the vent hole and inserted a piece of airline tubing.

Sink traps are either 1.5 inch for kitchen, or 1.25 for bathroom. They’re also not made to slip together as pvc fittings are

You could also bend your own using 1” pvc pipe. I’m sure there some YouTube vids on the subject. Ime, with pvc, the hot sand method will produce the best results

If you use one street elbow, with one regular, it will shorten the length and will fit fine

Also good idea to drill a small hole in top to allow air out to ease the start up process, with whichever type of U you use

I believe the Synergy Shadow uses 1.5" drains anyway. You can find those U fittings. The regular 1" 90° with a street 90° will probably be your best bet.

Pretty sure all the new reef synergy uses 1.5” bulkheads going down to plumbing/sump from outside box. Where’s some of the older original stuff, depending on size, used 1”

all of my p traps on my bean animal style overflow are slips

also you could always use a 1.25 inch p trap and then reduce it to 1 inch before the bulkhead
