Hey everyone, I have been looking for some fish from online due to my lfs super overpriced fish. Where do you guys buy your fish from?
Also, have they come in healthy, well feed or did they die before or after delivery?

I've purchased from Liveaquaria divers den and had good healthy fish. Not sure how they are since Petco took over but I've heard mixed reviews.

Personally I have had good luck with ORA/LiveAquaria. Here is a thread that you might find helpful:

Thanks, will look into it!

For me, I’ve had success with Live Aquaria’s divers den for fish. No so much with coral though.

I buy from either Poma Labs (I love my angels!), Elliot at Marine Collectors, or Mike at Quarantinedfish. I love the healthy specimens that I get! They're eating, healthy, and looking great!

Live Aquaria is a great source and has excellent customer service. Otherwise NYAquatic and BlueZooAquatics ae a good place to look if your looking for something special.

Usually people order online for the selection of less common stuff that the LFS wouldn't have.

The overnight shipping cost for live fish tends to cancel out any price advantage over the local store no matter how expensive they are.
Unless of course you order a whole tanks worth at once and combine shipping, but that's not really a good way to go about it.

It used to be Live Aquaria and I was always satisfied with my order or the resolution if something didnt work out right. But they recently made a number if changes all in a short period if time that all went against the consumer.

3 biggies for me:

Increased free ship threshold from $99 to $149

Added a bagging fee or handling fee of some sort

Stopped refunding money, now you only get credit back on livestock guarantees

Second this.
Liveaquaria used to be my go to place for fish. They have gone way down hill recently.
Fish cost has increased.
Quality has been very poor.
Box fee even if you qualify for free shipping.
The worst is doa is credit only and doesn’t qualify for free shipping.

Big disappointing changes.

NYAquatics. Michael ships like a pro. I got a Gem tang at a steal of a price and he is healthy and beautiful

I got 4 fish from Liveaquaria in the summer. I live on the edge of death valley. They sent 3 fish in one box and one in a different box. They sent the 3 fish box with heat packs. Not sure what they where thinking. Only fish that lived was the one shipped separately with a cool pack. Ended up fighting them over the refund and then wanting to do store credit instead of refund.. ended up getting a refund but it was a massive pain that I wont do again
