Where do you guys find all the bad butt torches?

I have been keeping corals for 30 years and never ever paid any attention to them. Now they start at 100 bucks for a lame green one and that is just one head. Crazy.

Only paid $35 for my green aussie torch but yeah there are definitely some nice and expensive ones out there

I look under rocks for mine....

no seriously local reefers are the way to go. Offer part in trade if they are willing. Way easier on the pocket book

I wish. I live in BFE southern Indiana, not many reefers around or not that I know of.

Believe it or not, there are very few SW aquarium stores here in Houston that have anything to offer and I have never met another SW Hobbyist here. There is no club for all I know.

I find torches all the time for sale, they are the hot and in coral so supply and demand. Grow fairly well so cut and frag and your even. That’s how you gotta look at the hobby these days.

What?!?! I’m in Houston there are tons!!! We have our own website/forum called MARSH-reef

large community here and tons of stores

I need to start connecting with some people around Indy and Louisville. Im about an hour west of Louisville and 45min east of Evansville. I come through Indy frequently though when I go to NWI to visit family.

I like the green ones too, don't get me wrong. Its just that in the past a indo torch was just a bread and butter coral, no big deal, 30-50 bucks for a multi head piece. Now you pay 100 a head. what the heck happened.

You guys that are in Marsh get in touch. text me at 832 57 3 4 6 6 4 The name is Wess Lewis. Believe it or not I was at the first Marsh meeting a long time ago when they had it at a Tie Restaurant on Wesleyan by the Gallarea. The owner sold fish and corals out of one side of the place. No one ordered food so the dudes wife wouldn't let them hold meetings there anymore.

Where in Houston should I go

That aquarium place or galactic corals are pretty good if you’re looking for high end stuff that won’t wreck your bank account, otherwise, I recommend hobbyists. FJW has nice euphyllia but it’s all no name, don’t know if you care or not.

FJW has a great selection, that is the only local place I have been to in years, but he is pricey. I guess no more so that buying online. I do not care about a name, that is one of the reasons things are so darn high. Name it and its 4 times the price.

I tried signing up on the Marsh websight and for some reason my email has been banned. I dont think I have ever been on the sight, If I have it has been a looooong time ago.
