Where do you guys put chalices ?

Im kinda outa my acropora phaze as i now have about 14 and other sps.... And im starting to collect favias and chalices

Chalice and all the types of brains corals kinda elude me on placement though. The Brains like Favia and Favites or platygyra i just glue to a small flat rock and keep them on the sand bed.. But what about chalices ?

Like for a plating hollywood stunner i just glued it to my giant rock with all my plating montiporas its in low light on the bottom of the rock now partially being shaded by a purple monti above it but it still grows but i probly need to move it.

But what about other chalices? I just got a pink bo obies chalice which is in my first pic below. But i dont know where to put it. Does it encrust or is it a plating chalice ? Look like it encrusts based on the plugs growth but ya. There are other chalices i want to get like a i think it was space invaiders and some others..

Anyway where should i be placing the pink bo obies chalice ? Or the space invaiders. Do they meed their own small rock on the sand bed like the favias and other brains or. Should add some more rock to my tank like a small column and glue them on that on various sides away from eachother. This way theyre higher up in the tank.

2nd pic is another chalice i cant find a name for.. i dunno if its plating or encrusting

Regular chalices:Bottom, on rocks... they take on the rocks shape and creep along the bottom

Hollywood stunner: try glueing vertically to the back wall: looks cool as heck

At the bootom, middle and top, doesn’t seem to matter with them.

Okay thanks. Just wanted to be sure. Ill experiement with the pink boobiies i want to be sire it keeps its awsome colors.. it has yellow pinks.oranges ect

Those are the high light colors. If it starts turning purple it has too low of light if you are looking to keep the existing colors. That was my experience with that coral at least.

Yea i put the pink boobiies midway in my tank directly below/center of my fixture so it gets all bulbs. Well see. Dunno if i can get it to my acroporas height because i keep encrusting corals off my higher rocks so they dont hurt my acros.. might have rearrange some rock again maybe add another under this one to raise it up . Right now id say its about 16 inchs from the surface of my water in a 24 1.2 inch tank. With my lights 8 inchs above water.. this is about 5 inchs lower then my acros.

This is the main thing i liked about this chalice were the yellow and oranges on the outer edges in my picture

I put mine on a rock thinking it would take the shape of the rock and encrust it, but it didn’t. It’s grown out more like a monti. A part of me wants to move it but it seems to be doing well.
