Where do you order your corals?

My LFS has been my source but with the crisis the supply is limited. Where do you guys that order your coral typically shop at?

What type of corals are you looking for?

AquaSD usually has a good selection of SPS and LPS. I would check out their ebay sales and you can get some really good deals there

Definitely search their selling history first. I saw 2 posts yesterday from the same member that took possibly thousands of dollars from members and disappeared.

Local hobbyists (only if I can visit and pick up coral) otherwise I've also bought quality corals from Pacific East Aquaculture from MD. They're Maryland certified and licensed coral aquaculture facility

I wish this site would put the sellers/ buyers rating right under sellers/buyers name. Like most sites do.

Yup. Other people in the hobby is your best bet. Most online vendors price gouge then charge another $40 for shipping. Buy local for the best prices ime.
Unfortunately there isn’t much of a local market, but I’ll figure something out!

Check out the R2R website. You may need to pay shipping, but alot of people will work with you on it. Good sized frags as well

ASD, if you can't buy local. Their weekend sales start at noon on Saturday, they have great prices and shipping is $30. As far as buying only from hobbyists goes - there are far too many, IMO, that are asking prices just as high as vendors are, at least in online forums. Not all, but more than you would think. Buy local if you can.

You're right. Its a funny thing, and I wish more people would call them out on it.

If you really get into it with professional coral retailers about their prices, they'll explain about needing to cover their overhead costs and payroll costs. Which ignores the fact that overhead is a decision (I am continually bemused at the retailers who decide to set up shop in a high rent and cost of living location, then ask their customers to pay those costs for them). But putting that aside, they do have those costs, and need to cover them somehow.

But hobbyist sellers don't have overhead or employees. And that frag of Ultra Rainbow Fairy Unicorn Farts didnt cost any more to grow than this frag of no-named wild millepora did. Equal costs of production, 50-fold difference in prices.

Personally I think the community should push back a *lot* more on this.

Pacific aquaculture east. That Place is a joke I emailed him two days in a row and no one answers in

If you emailed me and didn't receive a response I apologize and not sure what the circumstances were. Please contact me again: [email protected]

I did have some emails in the last few days from a person named Dean and we corresponded back and forth a few times, not sure if that's you. Asked for additional pic of an item and I supplied that and aswered other questions.
