Hello I was just wondering if it really mattered where a fish was from and what's the big difference?

Do you mean where it was collected or what store you buy it from?

Some fish have different color variations based in region.
This is a good watch that discusses in part how certain regions are more likely to still use unsustainable catch practices.

As said, collection techniques, shipping methods; and regional variants of certain fish are why it matters.

Some also choose to buy fish from regions where the people need more help or for some reason are more deserving of the economy boost than others, but few are that aware of the world stage (myself to a large extent included).

I'm maiming just wonder as better adapted for aquarium life and better for the fish health

My understanding is that captive-bred is generally best suited for tank life and also for the environment. I do think knowing regions that use proper collecting methods are generally to be preferred when looking at wild caught (especially since most fish still cannot be bred in captivity). I shy away from tank raised bc of the ambiguity surrounding what that may or may not mean for the fish.
