where have my nassarius snails gone

I put 6 nassarius snails in my tank last week and for few days was very active and moving around tank on top of sand when put food in for fish!
But for 5 days iv not saw them at all" even when feeding tank!

have they died ?

They could be in the rocks or they could be in the sand.

have You moved rock around? Don’t want to say you crushed them... but maybe you crushed them. My guys come out ASAP when feeding. Possible that they are not getting enough to eat.

I don't even see that snorkel out the sand like I did in 1st few days! could it be because my sand has got more compact since I put them into tank because not done water change in 2 weeks

iv only got a goldrim tang and regal tang and pair of clowns in tank

no iv not moved rocks" my sand bed is little more compact but my 2 conch move around in the sand ok

Sometimes I see the snorkel and other times I don't. As long as they can dig in the sand it is fine. I have had mine disappear for a few days and think that its time to order more and then they seem to all come out and have a party.

Put a raw clam in there. You will find out very shortly.

My nassarius snails have only come out at night, I have never seen them come out at feeding time.

I don't see mine at feeding time either. They come out at night. I have two conchs that I won't see for weeks and just when I tell my husband I think they died, they are there the next day. It's like they know.
