Hey there fellow reefers, Just out of curiosity, I have begun to notice some of the coloration in some of my coral such as my blastos, sunny D zoas, And my fungi plate not match their mother colonies that they were originally fragged from in my LFS. Seems like all of the green coral such as my leathers, gsp, duncans, and frogspawn have not lost any coloration but anything out of the greens slowly fades down to a lesser desirable pigment. I checked my parameters and they currently match my LfS, one different factor would be the lights. He uses the Radion Gen 4 and I have a AI hydra 26. Ill post some pictures for reference but let me know what you think, As always feed back is most certainly appreciated ! sorry for it being picture heavy haha

Following. I also have a coral color problem. I bought a forest fire digi that was bright red with bright green base color. And eventually dulled out. Same with acans, euphyllia, etc.

Here's my tank specs to see what we might have in common...

Tank/ Tank equip.
  • 25g AIO lagoon
  • x2 Kessil a160we with a controller (I had the lights ~3'' away from the water column for a long photoperiod that was at 100%. Now I moved it 12'' away from the water column and decreased max intensity to 50%... Some zoanthids are reaching... we'll see the outcome...
  • x2 heaters
  • x2 jebao powerheads at random mode
  • Special Grade sand
  • Plenty of LR
  • ~1 1/2 year old tank
  • Microbacter
Parameters
  • ~79f
  • Calcium ~450
  • Mag ~1400
  • Alk ~9
  • Dosing cal, mag, and alk manually.
I'm going to experiment with adding a protein skimmer to see if that improves anything.
