Mine is in the basement, I mounted it to the side of a metal shelf and my roto mold containers finally showed up. I’ll still have to haul buckets as my tank is upstairs nowhere near a water source and above a finished section of the basement.

Mine is in the basement on a metal shelf. I have it sitting in a plastic tray to catch any water if it leaks. The tray actually came with one of those fake grass areas for dogs to pee on when they're being house broken. My dog never pee'd on it (she preferred newspaper, lol). So the tray that held the fake grass is under my RODI. Just took the grass out.

Mine is about 1 1/2 ml from my home at a very nice reefer friends house. He has been supply my salt water and RO for the last 4 yrs and it is SO much simpler just to message him and go round. No messing with barrels, filters, cleaning, spillage, storage etc etc. It's cheaper to go to him and get my water than to have an RO unit installed. I use about 20 x 25lt barrel of RO for top up and 12 x 25lt salt for water changes every year.
