Where should I buy fish?

Any body know any good places to buy fish that are pre qt’d. I have one site but their out of stock right now.

LiveAquaria does do something of a quarantine with their Divers Den species. That's the only one I know of off the top of my head that does a quarantine themselves, though you may want to ask your LFS what their procedure is.

My lfs is a petco and a mom and pop shop that I’ve bought from before and they claimed they qt’d but the tang I bought got ick than died when I turned the lights one one morning

Ya he seems like a great seller with his prices and qt schedule. Also like that he does discounts on over stocked fish

If your going to buy from a website that is qting the fish then you have to expect to pay a little more because of the work that is going into it. Theres many diseases and the fact that these vendors are willing to take the time and do the work for me i have no problem paying a little extra for the peace of mind

Ya i know but compared to Quarantinedfish.us the prices are night and day and they both seem to qt well

Ya I know my blue hippo tang already had it and has a spot or two now and then. I’m not worried about it to be honest I bought a 40w uv and I plan on getting it set up around Christmas. I’ve just made sure to keep the fish healthy and well fed with vitamins added to their food.

I also made sure to run a round of prazi pro and ruby rally just in case to kill off anything else I might have added into the tank when I stupidly added the tang with ick

With the price of some fish, I don’t think some of the places that do quarantine are much more expensive. Maybe some fish are, but for example if quarantinedfish and live aquaria are very similar on yellow tangs. In fact quarantinedfish is cheaper if you buy it from them and don’t use their quarantine services. The last few orders I’ve had from LA, some of the fish arrived dead or very close to death
