I bought a clam 2 or 3 days ago and i placed him on the sandbed and put a rock under his shell and thought he would stick to it.But i dont know why he doesnt stick to the rock.He pushes out his tongue and search for sth that i dont know and just pull it back to the shell.

It doesn't necessarily have to be on LR unless you want to move it around. If you move it around and it doesn't like your spot, it will try to move itself and possibly tear its foot in the process. All of mine were placed where they would get good light and flow and ,for the most part, did well. Nice clam. Good Luck!

I placed it just on the sand bed but im scared that sth goes into it and just eat it . Should it be on a live rock?

I had a Squamosa that I left on the sand bed. He never attached his foot. He grew from 3" to 12"x7" in a little under 2 years.

Thats a very beautiful one.Its amazing .if it got so big like that i thnk i have to provide him a wide space.Do you feed him?

Squamosa does fine in the sand bed, it's not a rock boring clam. As Squamosa gets larger they may not attached any longer, same for Derasa and Hippopus, and Gigas.

Never fed him. He grew too large for my tank so I had to get rid of him. He was in my 40b.
