My tank has been running for about 4 months now. All of the corals have been in for a couple of weeks. I have some zoas frags, mushrooms, leather tree, goniopora, clove polyp, candy cane, and gsp. I am puttting the gsp on the far right, giving it room to spread. Everthing is doing good except goniopora won't open. I am not sure of the placement of the rest of the corals. I have one Radion on the tank, at 30% right now. Its smack dab in the middle. A MP10 on the left and a Jebao the right. THis is a Nuvo30L by IM. Took the skimmer off, not pulling out much, don't think I need it. Purigen and Chemipure Blue and a filter sock every one in a while. I really want to get a Torch or Hammer coral next. Thanks reef peopplee:):):):):):)

What type of lighting are you running? Looks like a Radion. That'll aid in coral placement. In general, just look up the lighting and flow requirements for the species you've chosen. Most softies like lower light/flow. LPS moderate light/flow. SPS higher light/flow. I too just got a micro gonipora frag that doesn't seem to want to open. Unfortunately this type of coral is one of the harder LPS to keep. They have poor survival rates (long term) and they like nutrient-rich waters.

My goniopora is placed in middle of tank with moderate flow but again, as said above they are difficult to keep. Mine was doing really well until I went away for 3 days and is now going down hill.

Where do u reccomend I for info about placement? Yea mine was open when I purchased, I am goin to try feeding it.
Julian Sprung has identified light, flow, feeding, placement and aggression requirements/characteristics for many common corals; I used his book (Corals: A Quick Reference Guide) to create a map for INITIAL placement in my new tank. You'll want to see how your corals react to conditions and move them to more favorable parts of tank before you glue any down.

You can find used copies on several sites. Or as KMench writes, you can easily research their needs online.
