So I am building the stand for my new plywood frag tank, it’ll be 10 foot by 4 foot. Anyways I am done with what I had for the stand and it seems insanely stable but I have a lot of leftover 2x4 so I figure I might as well add more support just because.

Where do you guys suggest and what will be the best? I was thinking doing legs down the middle, any other suggestions or things to improve on?

I will be putting a 3/4 inch plywood sheet on top along with 3/4 styrofoam board on top of the plywood

Nice build! Should be able to park a few trucks on it :)

I would suggest that you add 2x4s to the outside of each middle support, much like you did to the ends. Reason being to support the top horizontal square better. Right now you are supporting with only screw strength in the middle, but have vertical force support on the four corners.

Hope that makes sense. Good luck though! Looking great!

Flat bottom too, you'll want to support the middle braces vertically... I was thinking rimmed tank for some reason. If flat bottom maybe a mixture of the two. Rule of thumb is vertical force support every four feet so regardless, I think you'll be ok, and anything more is icing. :)

definitely makes sense and I will do that! I will also probably add some legs too, better to be safe then sorry!

I suggest you consider screws to just be there to hold pieces of wood in place and not be part of the strength.
When you count on a screw to hold up a tank one day it stops holding it up.

Yes a 2x4 under each end would work. But check the whole stand for where you were counting on screws instead of wood to hold something up.

any other opinions or suggestions? I will be adding the additional support tonight before putting the tank on top to finish the tank in place(bracing, etc)
