I would like to buy a very large bubble tip anemone for clown hosting. Colors are good, great cost is even better. Thanks

Try one of our sponsors on R2R, many can help you out on a BTA.
Can you show us a FTS from your tank as where the BTA will be released if you have found one?

Ecotech has covers, and I believe it's the only pump on the market with one.

This design can be built for any pump style and costs about 75 cents. Just a little bit of knitting screen and zip ties. It also reduces the suction if anything does get near it as it spreads the input-flow to the pump over a larger area than the sponges. After time it also helps with filtration of the tank as you'll have a safe-haven for pods and also hydroids love to colonize it. Natural filtration is better as well. :)

I hate to sound like a jerk saying this but anemones are not the easiest animals to care for. Since this is the new to salt water forum I hope you can push the immediate urge for an anemone out a little while.
If not then I wish you and the animal luck.

Thank you for your comments. I've had BTA in a large tan for several years. I would like to start up again. Did you have information where I could purchase a large BTA at reasonable prices? If not thanks again!

Forget em...lot of folks show up all ya my tanks two weeks old no idea what i am doing! let me kill things!

suspicion and basics is where they start from need.

and no I dont have a lead on a large atm BTA sorry.

The sponsors here are great. My favorite is AquaSD. My two BTA's are from AquaSD and they are doing very well. Reasonable prices, great shipping, awesome company to work with.

07Dani I hope I did not offend since that was not my intent but just being cautious since it was posted here.

I personally do not know a good place for you to get one unless you are in the Tampa area. I probably wouldn't buy one online unless you just don't have any local stores in your area. If you do not have any stores give the previously mentioned sponsors a go.
The reason for buying local for me is cost to ship will likely exceed the cost of the anemone since bubble tips are fairly cheap at the moment.

Good luck with your search.

Also it is important to remember not all clownfish will readily move into just any hosting anemone. You need to find which would work best for the clown species you are interested in. I have read many posts where someone attempts to add a BTA for perculas and/or ocellaris and the clowns ignore the anemone - then again there are clowns that move into condylactis anemones.
