Where does everyone buy their corals? Not looking for rare corals, just affordable at this point.

I have a lot of inexpensive SPS and LPS. I'm willing to ship at very reasonable prices, send me a pm if interested.

Keep an eye out for Frags Swaps in your local area, alot of reasonably priced corals.

Even keep watching the For Sale sections of the Forums such as R2R... you can find alot of good deals!

And as Rukis said, Alot of hobbyists are willing to ship, you just gotta ask around!!

PM me if interested, I have alot of decent priced SPS, LPS and other frags!

I would have to say that there are more quality vendors on R2R than any other location on the web! Click on the sponsors tab you will be amazed with the variety and selections that are available.

I would support your local fish store if you have one available. They are the only ones that will be able to help you in a crisis should one happen.

I don't know, my LFS has always been disappointed. Granted it is not all of them but, I still drive an hour or so for a decent fish store, since the local one has proved that they only care about money.

With all of the great sponsors on Reef2Reef, by clicking on the sponsor link you should be able to find just about anything.

That is local if you ask me. I drive 1-3 hours for all of my nice fish stores. I didn't mean the local dive. But one that has nice fish, tanks, corals, and great customer service.
If they fail to live up to any of those things, I don't shop there. I'd rather drive another hour and go to somewhere I am happy to spend my money.

I ordered my first batch from a really nice LFS in the area (amazing aquarium and reef in orange). Couple of negatives about LFS is that I can't do thorough research on what I'm buying (without going back), no price comparison and hard to keep track of names of what you buy.

I plan to take advantage of the local clubs for frags, but with my schedule will not be able to attend one till the reef-a-paloza in October. I did this in the planted tank side of things and know the benefits of having that community. I guess I also want to start my collection so that I can also trade. But not knowing how fast corals grow, that might not be realistic.

I ended up with liveaquaria, just cause I'm accustomed to using them. Next batch I'd like to try out one of the sponsors. Couple of things I look for, under $40-50 (so that I can get more per order and fill up tank faster), and color. I also like the sites that you can list all of their corals on one page. For example,
.: Pacific East AquaCulture :.
This place had higher shipping cost than usual, but prices seemed good. I also like that they are transparent about their operations, and things look clean and well taken care of. I also noticed a lot of places seem to be on the east coast?

So I guess, what are everyone's favorite sponsors on this forum?

This is what I got, next order might be more uncommon stuff:
Clown Goby, Yellow Qty: 2
Tail Spot Blenny (Cebu) Qty: 1
Spiny Star Astraea Qty: 5
Candy Cane Coral (Fiji) - Small Qty: 1
Bright Color Fiji Acropora Pack - Small Qty: 1
Colony Polyp Rock Zoanthus Qty: 1

We have lots of corals for under $40. We even frag some of the very expensive Australian corals for or customers with small tanks and or a small budgets. We have lots of things not on our website also so give us a call and we will work with you to get your tank looking sweet.

I try to do LFS but they often don't have the selection and I want to see the coral before I buy so special orders aren't for me. That's why I visit many of the good online vendors here who have WYSIWYG corals. I especially like the ones that use scientific names so I know exactly what I'm getting instead of common names that can confuse matters.
