Looking for a couple fish but don't know any local breeders. I'm in Bowie, MD. I know i can order online but I would prefer a local breeder. I see tons of ppl selling corals but no fish. When I was into african cichlids there were a ton of breeders selling fish around me. What do you guys recommend?

Very few people breed marine fish and sell them that way, so you are unlikely to find the same type of hobbiest sources you're used to with freshwater. Marine fish are much more difficult to breed than cichlids; we still don't know how to breed/rear most species offered for sale. Captive-bred fish are usually a small percentage of the fish sold in shops. If you are looking for clownfish, you may be successful, but otherwise, visit some local shops and see what they have to offer.

As both of the above posters said, Live Aquaria (and Divers Den) as well as Blue Zoo are both great. I would also implore you to check your surrounding area. I have a pretty good LFS within 3 miles but I generally will drive about 1 1/2 hr to another store to get most of my livestock for their quality/prices. Spending $15 on gas saves me over %30 overall generally.

Wow, ok. A lot diff from cichlids. Thanks for all the info. I placed one order with vivid aquariums and that went well. Guess I will be placing an order through live aquaria

No I am not WilRams but I will look them up now. Thanks
