Where to buy my fish

If it comes from Divers Den it’s cared for by Liveaquaria and is observed for 14 days before it’s put up for sale. Everything else that comes from the Liveaquaria site is coming straight from Quality Marine and LA never sees or touches the fish. Essentially the LA website is a stock list of things available at QM but not everything you can get from QM as a buisness

Did not know that. Good info, it does make sense why folks seem to have better experiences with the diver's den varieties.

@FishyBusinessAq , I have ordered 12 fish so far and received 12 healthy fish, gonna order another one this weekend.

When we visit Florida we always go to coral corral. They have nice stock and very knowledgeable employees. Also World wide corals is an hour from you and worth the drive if you can go with your parents. Another store north of you is Living Reef, Orlando very nice store and selection. We have been to all theee stores and brought stuff back to Wi. Good luck.

I live in Tampa too! Every fish in my tank came from marine warehouse and I’ve never gotten a sick fish from them. Not sure if you’ve been to corals and fins down the road from them they have cheap fairly nice coral but the two fish I’ve bought from them both died within hours of getting them. I’ve only been to fish and other ichy stuff once since it’s far from me and didn’t buy any fish but they had an awesome selection and all looked very healthy. They even had a regal angel. I live like a mile away from creative aquariums my dad has a fish from them that’s doing good but I don’t have any fish from them. I mainly go there to get LRS. For some reason I just don’t feel comfortable in that store lol. I’d love to hear about any other shops around Tampa that you have found!!

Fish and Other Icthy Stuff is my go to stop for quality fish that are quarantined before being offered for sale.

I hadn't even heard of Marine Warehouse & Corals and Fins until just now. It's already tough enough to see every store while I'm down there for the holidays, especially now that I have to keep adding more to my list.

There's one in Brandon that's okay. I thought their prices were a little high, but I guess you can do that when you're the only one in that part of town.

Live in Ohio and have ordered saltwater and freshwater livestock and have yet to have any losses other than a diamond goby (which just jumped out of tank so not really their fault). I do hear their customer support is great if there are problems though. I wouldn't hesitate to order from them again.

Agree with everyone, it really depends on the QT procedure and vigilance of your LFS. My LFS runs copper in their fish system, so I feel like they've gone through the 'natural selection' process already and tend to be hardier than buying online. I did receive 2 clowns, one flame hawk and one yellow prawn goby from Live Aquaria last week, and half of the fish are doing great. For some reason, the 2 snowflake clowns had both struggled (I lost one yesterday and Live Aquaria has already initiated the process of the refund) I expect the 2nd clown to follow suit. The goby and flame hawk are eating and seem really happy in QT.

I live in Tampa and I primarily use Marine Warehouse. I have also had good experience with Creative Aquariums. Both have a nice selection of fish and coral as well as knowledgeable staff.

Where did you get this information? I ask because have ordered from them for quite a while, and never had any issues. I have livestock in my shopping cart as we speak on LA, and when I saw this - especially after learning about the recent changes with Petco and their parent company (Drs. Foster and Smith) - I decided that it was a definite deal breaker. I just called to verify whether or not it was indeed coming straight from QM if not Diver's Den, and the representative told me that everything is watched for a minimum of two weeks regardless of the warehouse, and that oftentimes what is in the Diver's Den actually ends up staying for much longer. I can't help but wonder now though...

I have a few contacts at the Rhinelander facility and this was confirmed by them. The customer support at LA doesn’t have any idea how long anything has been at QM and I can assure you that fish at QM have less than a 2 week observation window before being shipped back out.
