Where to mount Apex and all electronic?

I am not sure where to mount all my equipment as the wife does not want "another " cabinet next to the stand. I was going to put it on the inside right side panel but will either humidity, salter water creep or anything like that damage the equipment?

Hopefully, not salt creep... if you're mounting electronics that close to a splash source, you're asking for trouble.

Humidity can certainly be an issue. Helped a friend work on his 3 year old Apex a few weeks ago. Still worked, but corrosion was obvious.

I've got mine 20" or so over the sump. With plenty of air circulation in the sump room, I'm not overly concerned. So far so good (tank has been wet about 4 months now). Check back in a year or so

If you must mount it in close proximity to the sump... perhaps an airtight mounting box?

I very much like the stand designs that allow for a separate electronics section. If I had with a sump under the tank on my latest build, I would have gone in that direction.

I have had mine mounted on a board inside my JBJ 45 Gal ( 22 In x 21) for over two years. It’s about five in from my sump. I bought a piece of p,exiglas and put it between the two and have not had a problems at all. no salt creep nor humidity it’s all been good

I put mine on the outside of the stand and that way I can easily see status lights and such. Still need some additional wire cleanup but it's just starting to cycle now so I have time.

And I put the EB8 on a small panel inside the stand as high as I could above everything

Will she let you mount a ply wood board towards the back of the tank? like a panel I've seen a lot of people post images and videos on it. Just get a light weight ply wood and drill some holes space it accordingly. I would put it with a track system like a draw and mount it that way.

not really cause it would make the tank stick out too much.

this is what i had in mind but i have a 3 year old and as good as she is, i don't want to take any chances of her bumping into anything.

i could mount it on the inside left or right side facing out as i have a side door. I can place a piece of board there but then what i do with all the wires? the spaghetti wires is what concerns me most. Was thinking something like this.

Why not on the back side of the cabinet if you can access it? If done properly, it would need to be sticking out too much.

I tried that and unless you can completely get behind the stand I wouldn't recommend it. Too cramped.

I designed my stand with seperate compartments for the electronics. These compartments are also ventilated using fans. The sump area of the stand and the canopy are also ventilated using fans, but I had to modify those fans for them to last any lenght of time. If you have room to put a partition between the sump area and the electronics area of the stand it would be a big help. Also it would be a good idea to ventilate it with air from outside the stand with a fan. Controllers do generate some heat.
