So, I’ve got two 500w heaters in the return compartment of the sump. The heaters have separate temperature probes, and I will eventually get a good controller.

Question is, seeing as the probes are separate, is it better to have them in a different compartment in the sump, say where the drains are? Does it matter? Unfortunately the cables to the probes aren’t quite long enough to go in the tank itself.

I put mine before (in terms of flow) the chamber with the heater, so the reading you’re getting is the furthest from the heater.
