Going to start an automatic doser in the next 2 or 3 weeks. Don't want the lines running to my main tank. Hear many mixed things about sending to sump. I have red sea sump for XL525. Basically over flow area from tank going through 2 socks. Next main part of sump. I have skimmer and 1 of my heaters there. Then that flows to return pump section where I have another heater. Would like to run it there but heard it was really bad for pump to dump calcium here. What if I run a small power head in this section??

Thanks for any input.

My dosing lines run right into my fuge (chaeto), it does have decent flow, and that runs right into my return chamber. I've had no problems with this setup.

Where's your skimmer??? You're not runnng it directly into return chamber though.

Nah, my drains run into two socks, then into my skimmer chamber, then fuge (where my dosing lines are mounted) then return pump. And no, I was dosing into my return pump directly, but ironically moved the lines into my fuge because they were in the way haha

My dosing lines run in to the sump at the return pump baffle.

You ideally what it going into flow areas. Mine goes into the return section of my sump.

I want it in the return section by read stories of the calcium messing up the pumps.

I've never had that problem...but I do use 1.1 ml/min pumps....puts in drops at a time....so it is quickly diluted and sucked up in the water column.

Return section of the sump. I added a powerhead in that section just in case, but I agree with who thinks it is an overkill.

Dosing reef pro a&b in my return side of sump but that's also where skimmer is . Question is my skimmer removing my additives before it does its job?
