Most of mine are on the botom some in direct light and some under ledges in the shade

when you guys say bottom of the tank...how far away from the light is it? cuz i have a real deep tank....28 inches and i was wondering if thats too far down from the light?.. the light is about 3-4 inch from the top of the water. Im currently running a 250 with t5 actinics...lmk

my lights are 8 inches from the water and my chalice are around 20 inches from the water surface. oh and im running 400w 20k radium single end bulbs
