I imported a Tunze 3168 filter from Germany to Canada and I naively thought it would come with the right plug, or at least an adapter.

Well it did not. I went online and found 3-way adapters (with a ground) and 2-way adapters. I figure the 3-way adapter with the ground would be best, but I would like confirmation from someone who knows what they’re talking about.

I’ve written to the seller, in case he knows. I’ll also try Tunze.

Thanks !

Never mind. Here is the answer from Tunze.

« The pump will not work on 115V 60Hz, both frequency and voltage are critical to the pumps operation, the only way to make this filter work on US/Canada 115V 60Hz is to replace the pump, you need a 2000.000 Pump. A plug adapter only will likely result in a major electrical issue and a voltage adapter will result in difficulty starting and running and the pump will fail in a short time.»

What a waste of time and money ! I am so p… right now.
