I haven't done a water change in over a year (FOT). I'm considering transitioning to a mixed reef tank.
So,which adsorbent(granular) is suitable for high NO3 PO4?

Thanks

If the tank isn’t too big, you could do some water changes. I’ve had mixed results with adsorbants if levels are high. They tend to work best to keep numbers in check.

If you are adding corals they will start using those nutrients. As per previous post I would start doing water changes if it’s a suitable option for you. The corals will also need you to do water changes unless you want to start dosing what they need.

Thank
Tank=200L
Even though I have been doing 10% water changes daily for half a month, the NO3 PO4 levels remain high. It's almost the same even if I skip water changes for a week.

You might need to feed less or add a skimmer. What are you doing to remove nutrients from the water? What are you feeding and how often? If you do a water change then keep doing what you were doing previously they won’t go down.

Carbon for NO3. GFO for phosphate. Keep an eye on calcium and alk balance if you do GFO.

Vodka/vinegar for nitrates. Lanthanum chloride for phosphates.

Your numbers really aren't that bad. Do you have coral now? If so, what type? And what are you planning to add? I ran a thriving mixed (heavy LPS with some mushrooms) tank for several years with nitrates 50-100 and phosphates 0.5-1.0. The only reason my tank has lower nutrients now is because I upgraded and moved everything...

*Edit: sorry, I didn't understand what "FOT" meant, lol. Add some coral, reduce your fish feeding, do routine water changes (you'll need to do something anyway to maintain the elements needed for coral), and add a refugium if possible. IMO, adding any phosphate remover, carbon dosing, etc at this point is not advised.

Yes,only one fish and skimmer =700L(my tank =200).All my equipment is sufficient.
Feed: Hikari 30 pellets,every day.

Sorry,FOT is fish only tank
I had Green Star Polyp and mushrooms for try, they grow well. But it would fail if it were LPS.

I will think about that,thanks.
