Out of all the pretty angelfish out there. I only really want to keep 2 or 3. My question is which angelfish is your guys favorite? I am deciding between....
Blue face
Emperor
Majestic
Queen
Flagfin

However I am open to any new suggestions. I would like this pairing to get along as well. But I will have a 300 gal tank so no worries about size restrictions. I am going to keep maybe a few triggers and other aggressive fish in there so they need to be hardy.

So now it’s your turn to help me out!

I vote emperor however I really like the Red Sea asfur as well.

The emperor is an absolute staple of the marine aquarium hobby. Plus I’ve never heard of another fish picking on them and they seem to mind to themselves . Thank you. Still need more input on a second one though. Or someone to prove emperor isn’t the choice

I would cross off both the emperor & the queen. Need a lot bigger tank in the long run as they mature. My vote is for the Blueface & majestic you could also add the flagfin if you wanted.

Another vote for a tank raised Blue Line from Poma. Second pick would be the majestic. Both Angels shouldn’t grow more than 8”.

Emperor and Majestic for me. Honestly I feel as if an emperor plus another large angel would be fine in a 300. Heck I was considering an emperor but since I have zoas I decided not to.

I have a flagfin and majestic, and would love an emperor in the mix; but the likely mad aggression keeps me from doing so. So those 3 would be my fav if you want to keep your fingers crossed. Make sure to qt the flagfin and immediately treat for internal parasites, I would first treat with prazi pro then metroplex/focus in food when he starts eating, flagfins have a very high mortality rate.

Blueline, Regal, emperors, and Asfur are my favorites of the attainable ones. Personatus is my when I win the lotto favorite.

We have blue face, regal and flame angels in our SPS dominant tank and they are great. They share the tank with a 10" sailfin and blue tangs as well as moorish idol, pakistani butterfly, mandarin and melanarus wrasse.

Unless I am missing something he has a 300 gallon tank, which should be enough for an emperor or a queen.

I have all of those going in to my 500 gallon shortly, if they survive quarantine--- except the flagfin I went with it's cousin the Goldflake.

If I had to pick favorite angels, it would be SO difficult to do.

Here is my list in this order but all of them atop my list:

Emperor
Scribbled
Queen
Blueline
Blueface
Goldflake
Majestic
French - require 8-10 foot tank

I didn't include the Regal because unless there are a LOT of angels in crowded giant tanks (as my 500 will have) it's probably not a good tankmate. I've kept Queen, Passer, Emperor, Blueface, Rock Beauty, Potters, and Flame together before without any issue.

I think the French is very underrated but for good reason -- it's really only suitable for a 8-10 foot tank. They get MASSIVE. Mixing Angels is difficult because they often need to be added in batches starting with the least aggressive, or all at once. I actually have a juvenile and adult emp together without issue, hopefully they pair up as they mature. I absolutely love large angels.

I am also working on a school (group of fish that tolerate each other more succinctly) flame angels for this tank, with an orange peel to boot. I think the orange peel angel is highly underrated!

My 8’ x4’x4’ will house these angels

3.5” bandit(already in)

4” bandit(in grow out tub)
4” Majestic(in grow out)
2” regal(in QT) eating well
3” regal (in qt with other one) eating sparingly
1.5” CB conspicuous (own tank waiting to grow to 2.5-3”)

Need to get
Blueline
Goldflake pair
Interuptus
Flame
