I have a tank that is just about 1 year old, and my soft corals are doing quite well. My xenia have spread from two plugs to maybe 10 distinct branches growing on the back of the tank. I have a Kenya Tree that has increased in size 3 to 4 times (but hasn't dropped any branches!). And a gorgonia that has gone from maybe half a dozen branches to perhaps 30 or so. The Xenia are indeed spreading, but the gorgonian and kenya tree are just getting bigger and bigger. I'd kind of like to have them spread within the tank, and I'm wondering if the trauma of fragging them and placing the frags nearby would slow their growth or speed things along. Any suggestions?

Are you sure your Kenya tree isn't dropping branches? Mine started to drop branches after around 4 months. I started with 1 Xenia frag and now have about 20. They could be stuck somewhere you're not seeing them.
