Hey guys so I have a JBJ 45g rimless tank and I’m looking for a new ATO something reliable with some sort of failsafe as I have wood floors and don’t want water everywhere but my budget is around $100ish don’t want to put down the $200 for the tunze. I was looking at the duetto dual or the smart ato micro. I know the duetto is kind of new I would like to hear if anyone has any opinions about it.

I like the Icecap with the dual optical sensors. Good price point too. You can also set it up for a gravity fed solenoid valve if you want to avoid using a pump (you can buy the parts separately).

I ran the jbj when I started, I really liked it because you could setup the second float as a safety float to shut the pump down. You can also pick your own pump for that ATO. I now run the Tunze, its solid!

I’ve actually had the JBJ I want to get something with sensors rather then moving float switches. No one has experience with the duetto

I like the dual sensor icecap but it doesn’t come with a pump and also looks a little large and I need all the room as I have an all in one tank

Seems like the smart ATO is very favored I’ve read a lot of good things about it. I was just thinking the duetto because it seems like a similar system but with the dual sensors to have that extra safety. But I can’t find much about it I might make another thread asking people’s experiences with it.

It came with a pump, tube, and tube holder when I bought it. Just didn’t come with the Solenoid option if you want that.

The sensor is a smaller footprint that the Tunze 3155; it’s closer to the Tunze Nano size but with two optical sensors (one for backup).

I use it in the back of an AIO as well.

I bought the smart ato micro for my 60g in November and its ran perfect and I haven’t cleaned any sensors yet. I’d recommend it or the tunze. Dustin
I have the smart ATO on my 30 gallon long and my brother has it on his 65 gallon - both have zero issues

Oh wow I didn’t see that well now I have another option haha

The smart ato has 2 sensors ? Using the duetto duo here with great results so far . Has 2 sensors top sensor is failover .
