I know most people will recommend the Tunze Osmolator but like how the Icecap ATO is all optical. Anyone had experience with both? Or experience with the Icecap ATO? In my research it seems that the tunze ato is a legit option but I don't see many people talking about the Icecap ATO. I'm also interested in hearing about anyone that has been using a gravity fed ato, like the NURCE.

Since I can setup the NURCE very cheap I might try that first but I'm also tempted to just grab the Icecap ATO. Or I might just grab a relay, some float sensors and a piece of acrylic and make a JBJ style ATO. I keep going back and forth, I just know I'm sick of topping of the tank 3 times a day...

I've just installed an auto aqua smart ato... fully optical and works like a dream... cheap in comparison too.

I use the hydor ato. No problems, but would probably prefer a simple optical as long as it doesn't require constant cleaning. I will say that as I've learned of the various pitfalls and evaporation level changes that can occur, the hydor pump has run dry more than once and still running like a champ.

I have an auto aqua smart ato as well. The only thing to keep in mind is routine cleaning is essential for optimum performance. This legit takes 60 seconds to wipe down the glass and the optical lenses once a week, but you'll be glad you did. I've gone weeks without cleaning with no issues, but you will begin to see random quirky issues pop up; better safe than sorry.

I have a couple tunze and they work great. I like the fact that it has an optical and a float. The pump is noisy. I have never had it fail on.
