I got it for $225 on Ebay but the person I bought it from does not have any up and he was running a little sale: I see $239 shipped on Ebay and yes it's a good price

i also have the inlannd and love it, cuts evrything like a jig saw puzzle if you want it to

the blades get pricey, 50 a crack

FWIW, I have used both the regular and 'coral-ready' Inland Bandsaws... I would definatly get the regular and pay $15 for the plastic plate. The motor on the one built specificially for corals doesn't seem as powerful and IMO doesn't cut as well.

Either way, great purchase that every serious reefer needs!

I had a Inland for about a year. I sold it and bought a Speedster about 2 months ago. It a much better saw than the Inland IMO. Plastic table, larger water bottle, metal support arm, much nicer blade guides, and a adjustable water outlet. Plus..it comes apart in a snap. I paid $229 on sale at my local glass shop for it and it came with a free blade.

great info guys I thik I am going to have to do some more research before I go and buy one now. I was sold on the inland but these others look good as well. I am glad that others have posted different saws so we all can figure out what saw is for us. Thanks

Depending on how many time you use your saw, bit the gryphon comes with a foot pedal accesory (like a gas pedal) the speed varies as you step on and let off the pedal

Nevermind just got the Speedster XL with 2 blades for $239 shipped on ebay. Maplecity has them on sell for $209 but out of stocked and only comes with 1 blade + $25 shipping. So the ebay deal is better if anyone is looking. Also the Inland DB-100 is onsale at Maplecity too for $196.99 and comes with 2 blades.

I wouldn't! You would need a diamond embedded blade to cut corals safely. I danm near cut my finger off cutting up a thick chalice towards the end of the cut when the chalice slipped due to me using to much force through the saw using the shop bandsaw. You can run your fingers on the daimond blade and it won't cut you.

I got the Inland band saw. The one that is $200.00. I forgot the model number. It works great. Cuts up to 3 inches in thickness!

Just curious, I noticed on Inlands site that the DFS saw comes with a stainless blade, that 'will not pollute the tank with copper' (or something on that order) Has anyone noticed any troubles along that line? or is that just a marketing slogan.

I take it everyone is using the blades that come with the saws?

Yes it comes with 2 blades on Fleabay for $227 shipped. I received it last night and had a couple test subject. I guess i can retire my dremmel now:sure:.

I work with my wholesaler doing a lot of the fragging. We make between 50-150 frags a day. The Inland saws are not made for heavy use. They are more of a hobbyist quality.

I'm going to research the other saws mentioned above, the Gryphon and Speedster XL. Does anyone have experience with a solid saw that is intended for heavy use?

We've burned through 3 Inlands in 4 months and about 6 blades. The top pulley gets worn out and starts snapping blades. So far Inland has replaced one top end and we are waiting to hear about the others. I personally spoke with Inland on the first worn out top end and they were extremely helpful and replaced it after I shipped it back to them.
