Most likely a rimless 120/G. The wife wants me to go smaller like 90/G 36x24x24. Just a foot less length.

Idk if this added convenience makes a difference to you, but there is an SPS guru in my area that will only use reactors with a screw on top.

He says he got sick of messing with nylon thumb screws every couple mo.

Advanced aquarium engineering and reef octopus would be examples of screw tops.

I run a Tunze with Tunze media on my 120. Comming up on 1 year running now and it is working well.
Tunze media is manmade and you can run a smaller reactor as the size of media has alot of surface area and its clean and does not sludge out.
I dont run a probe or controller but I have measured the effluent and it runs a ph of 6.5, 25 dkh, and it has no effect on the ph of my tank.

Thanks! Reborn starts to melt around 7.5 or 7.4 and arm is around the high 6’s I believe?

I liked the reef octopus reactors just fine.

Suprised no ones running the new avast calcium reactor! Pretty cool design.

I like a couple of the new reactors, but I will not get one until they are "old" reactors. Too many of the companies end up out of business and then I cannot get a part if I break something, or I otherwise need to replace it.

I prefer to avoid uniseals if I can - they don't last long with the low pH water on the inside. They are not the end of the world, but when paying the same money, I can do with some hardened stuff.

The exception to this are reactors that use normal PCV parts that I can get, or order, from a normal plumbing store.

I bought the Deltec CRTT 3000 for my 450g tank. I still haven’t used it yet since my tank is still being setup. But it did have great reviews and I am excited to use it.
