In need of a pair of clowns that will hopefully host my carpet. Said carpet has eaten/killed 7 of my fish and this is a last ditch effort in hopes that the clowns will chase away my remaining fish if they successfully host. Here's my carpet.

Clowns that I have had hosted by an S. haddoni over the years;

A. polymnus
A. clarkii
A. percula
A. melanopus
A. perideraion
A. akallopisos

I have had a large Red Carpet for 4 years now and the best I have had so far was my Maroon Goldstripe pair. The only problem

was they would move EVERYTHING in the path of the carpet when it decided to move around. The female became quite large and would move sand, baseball size rocks, large Lobo's etc. and just throw them aside like it was nothing. Other than that I loved them... Wish I still had them... They were just too destructive to my reef. If your carpet never moves then I highly recommend them.

I bought

a pair of these clowns... which you will see hanging out up top and don't host anything... I am looking to get a different pair myself... This was taken under white light so he looks blah. I need to figure out my Canon 60D so I can take pictures under my LED's

Depending on what's available at my LFS (can be quite limited on Prince Edward island) I think I'll either be going with Clarkii's or pink skunks. Only problem with my tank is that I also have 3 bta's that could become possible hosts....

Will probably come home tomorrow with 2 pink skunks. I don't care for the look of the fish but if they will host (please please please fingers crossed) they will be worth $80 that the lfs is charging me for the pair!

I had the same problem. I added 2 small clarkii and they were in the carpet in less than an hour. They absolutely love it.

Unfortunately there are no Clarkii's available in PEI at the moment or that's what I would've bought. I bought the skunks. My ocellaris were not impressed with the new additions. They survived there first day and the harassment has calmed down but they are not hosting the haddoni yet. I new the ocellaris would give chase to them but I was hoping the skunks would dive right in to the carpet and be protected but it hasn't happened yet.

BTW. those are fantastic specimens.
Thanks had the red for 5 hrs started about 6" across had the blue for 10 yrs and has not grown much, purple has been w me for about 10 mths and has colored up nice.

Well I got sick and tired of the carpet eatting my fish and with no luck with the skunks being hosts, I got the carpet out of my display tank (yay). I'm holding him in my 30 gallon quarantine tank until I can sell or trade it for something else.
