Which corals require a lot of light/PAR?

Hello R2R,

I currently have a large amount of LPS in my reef tank, and while they are super beautiful and interesting animals, I have a hard time getting them to flourish higher up in the tank.

Please recommend your favourite coral which likes medium to high light!

I cant keep Acropora sadly, I have tried multiple times.

This depends on spectrum. All of those LPS can live a foot under the water with sunlight.

What light do you have and what spectrum. If heavy blue, you might need more red to allow energy to transfer between photo systems... so more white.

I think I can? I had a montipora, which was green/orange/purple, but I was sure it was dead, as it was completely white and had broken over in half. Now it has polyps out and is purple/orange but no green to be seen.

I buy corals that come from a 300 par system and I'm sitting here with a Radeon XR15 blue gen 6 that's sitting in the other room doing nothing besides collecting dust. I can't figure out the settings and still using my prime 16 HD. I'm able to keep SPS digi going strong. You may need to slowly raise the LPS higher slightly to adapt them to the stronger intensity. I have another SPS that refuses to grow anywhere besides the sand bed but it came from a lfs that has really crappy lights and never taken care of .
