which designer clownfish to buy

I had a tank problem that killed my fish in my nano tank. I have a pair of wyoming whites in my DT. I love black storm but can't afford it. What designer clownfish would you recommend that is cool but not too expensive. I had a black ice that died

OP, sorry for your loss. I love designer clownfish and am looking into getting my first pair. My favorites are Snow Onyx, Chocolate Domino, Ora MisBar Caramel, and Frostbites. Hands down, my absolute fav is Frostbite, but that's a bit out of my price range for now.

Diver's Den has Ora Misbar Caramel Clowns, and they run about $60 per pair. I'm leaning towards these myself. Really cool looking, and very affordable, as far as designer clownfish go.

I think first I'd try to find out why clowns are dying on you, so my first thought would be are you keeping multiple pairs in one tank?

No I had these for a year and a half. I had an equipment malfunction. I will be putting them in qt and will doing big water changes during the next month. It is only a 20g nano. frostbite and snowflakes look very nice thanks

I'm right there with Timothy Davis...I just bought this one last weekend at the INDMAS frag swap. I love the little guy, and the corloring is awesome, but I'm not sure if it's a snowflake, or a frostbite.

still like black storm but the others are more in my price range. My tank is so sad without my clowns. I called one of my lfs and they didnt have any though they did have a paired watchman goby with a shrimp which I got. Will go to my other lfs this weekend. I found a fros

tbite online but not a bonded pair. so not sure

There are so many choices(Take a look at the designer clownfish pictorial thread)

It's kinda like asking what is the best color, eye of beholder thing, and while there's a lot of cool clowns available, personally I still cling to picasso's as my favorite.

Look at cultivated reef . They r great and good prices. I got my frostbites from them and they even called me to ask me exactly what I wanted. The owner took time out of his day to speak with me so that’s great customer service
