Which drill bit is best to use on your rock?

Tried using some of the drillbits I have at home and they don’t seem to penetrate the rock very easy so I was wondering what kind of drillbits y’all are using to drill your rock.

I use masonry drill bits.

Diamond bit hole saw bits from the local home improvement center. Here's a video a friend of mine did on her aquascaping when she set up her current reef system.

+ 1 for masonry bit. I’d also avoid a hammer drill. Sometimes you’ll split the rock with the hammer function.

I bought some masonry drill bits and some diamond hole saws in a kit so I should be able to cut a bunch of different sizes.

Hopefully it's not Marcos premium shelf rock, I destroyed every bit I used drilling that stuff, including my diamond bits.;Shifty

All of my rock is over 20 years old so I don’t have any of the new stuff like Marco rock.

Perfect, than you should be good. For some reason that shelf rock is VERY dense and not much goes through it

It's concrete, takes forever to drill with diamond bits.
