Which fish eat Copepods?

Since my tank is in a fallow period my pod population is starting to grow very fast. The glass is covered with the little guys. I won’t be adding fish back to the tank till September so by then I will have tons of them.

I know mandarins will eat them, but what else?
Also I will be putting my 3 wrasse in (carpenters, labouts, lineatus) I think they will help but, I’ve never had this many pods in the tank.

I think Mandarins, Wrasses and Copperband butterflys all hunt pods.

He would do better with it because sand holds more pods than glass, gravel is better

I have clowns already too.

Amphipods are usually about 1/4" long, and look like a tiny shrimp. I don't see them on the glass usually.

Copepods are the tiny specs that crawl around on the glass.

Dragonettes like the mandarin and the one Paul has pictured eat pods for a living.

Halichoeres genus wrasses are amazing hunters, but they need sand.

Chrysiptera genus damsels might be a good option.

No worries.

The wrasses you picked (fairy and flasher) probably won't eat very many pods. They eat plankton out of the water column.

Maybe a possum wrasse would do a good job for you. Mandarins and scooter blennies are awesome, if your tank can handle it.

Perfect opportunity for a nice mandarin. Just be forewarned, you will need to culture/purchase more pods. These fish are vacuums when it comes to pods. Check out this thread:

About 6-7 months ago, I decided I would start preparing for a mandarin. I knew they consumed an exorbitant amount of pods, I guess I just didn't know how much. I set up two external pod cultures, 1 for tisbe and 1 for tigger and have kept them running for the last 6 months, trying to beef up...

My clown loves them. Often see him searching the rocks and the sand.
